NO BRACES!

This is Abbey before braces but she does have her spreader in. You can see a pretty big gap in between her middle teeth.

This is Abbey right when she got her braces on. She was able to pick colors of the bands and they were changed each time she went in. She choice red and green around Christmas and yellow in the spring.

This is Abbey on her b-day--what a cool present. She does have a clear retainer that she needs to wear for 6 months to a year. She still has 5 baby teeth to lose on top so she'll have to get a new retainer made when that happens. She looks great!!

Abbey, Today It's Your Birthday!

Abbey is 10 today! This is her when she is one day old! A lot changes in 10 years!!
She got breakfast in bed this morning and she requested a Mickey Mouse Pancake with whip cream!

Her big gift this year is a 4 G MP3 player. She also got a Jonas Brother's CD that she will put on her MP3 player! Her choice of dinner today is Daddy Waffles at home and then going out to Cold Stone for ice cream for dessert!

Another big thing that's happening on her birthday is that she is getting her braces off! More on that later!

Sue's Talk

I gave a little talk in front of a small mom's group today. I talked about fun things to do with your kids and gave examples of when we did our "Try something new Friday's". I think it was received well...they asked a lot of questions about the ideas and were writing a lot down! I was supposed to talk for an hour but I think it was closer to 45 minutes. At the end of the talk, I told them they could "try something new" and I handed out bite size candy bars of 3 Musketeers Dark Chocolate and Mint. I didn't care for it but some of the ladies liked it!

I give the same talk on Friday to a much larger group. I'm working on expanding the talk a little. It's nice to have a break from the food service that normally takes up my day.

Tomorrow is a big day in the Feenstra house! Abbey turns 10 AND gets her braces off...more to come...this time with pictures!!

Spring Break Fun

Our Spring Break was busy visiting with lots of people! We started the week at Aunt Judy and Uncle Brian's house. We hung out for a few hours to play and talk. It got cold while we were there so the kids ended up inside with red noses!

Then went to Aunt Gail and Uncle Matt's house to spend the night. The girls had fun playing with Anna and Anna had fun with them! She cried when we left on Tues. It was heartbreaking to drive away with her crying!

We spent Weds in town with Abbey going to her friend Abby's house and Jenny going to her friend Claire's house and Kelly and I going shopping. It was a fun day!

On Thur. we went to Holland to the Holland Aquatic Center. It was very busy when we got there but it cleared out around 3. I forgot my camera but Kelly did the zip line several times, Abbey did the inflatable obstacle course and Jenny loved the whirlpool where you go around and around.

Then we went to our friends, the Greydanus' who's dog just had puppies. The girls were able to hold the puppies almost all night. They had 10 puppies and they are now down to 2 if anyone is interested!




We slept at Dave's parent's that night and then came back to Holland the next day to play Laser Tag-"Fire til you Tire" for 2 hours...what a riot! We were all sweaty and thirsty when we were done.

One more day off and then we're back to school. We're still waiting for Spring weather...we woke up to snowflakes this morning!
